Purchase of golf course smells like bad politics

We are neighbors of a subdivision in Lake Villa where the Thompson Elementary is located.

A leader is finally retiring and it seems that his officials intend to keep doing things their own way, and without taxpayers consent. This time, they are planning to purchase a golf club about to go bankrupt with money from our reserve. We pay more taxes than most affluent towns and cities like Lake Forest. We have no downtown. We consistently discourage business from coming and they go to neighboring towns to get established and pay taxes. And now to top their outrageous practices, they want to get in the golf business!

By the way, the failing golf club is located in Antioch.

They are not even waiting for a village meeting. It looks like they have already committed to the purchase. They never asked anybody.

This smells so bad that we need to uncover it and investigate.
