Yes, we should take care of our most vulnerable

Joe Walsh said that Jimmy Kimmel's sad story about his son doesn't obligate him or anybody else to pay for somebody else's health care. No surprise there as, according to court records, he had issues paying child support for his own children.

Am I my brother's keeper? Most of the people I know would say yes. I can honestly say that I do not mind paying a little more for my health care if others would be able to afford it.

Warren Buffett said, "It was huge what they did on cutting taxes for the rich." So, maybe they could rethink that philosophy and make things a little more equitable for average-income and lower-income people.

On the practical side, it is going to cost us much more as millions of people who will not have health care go to the emergency rooms and we will end up paying for those costs anyway.

In a country as rich as ours, health care should be a given. The insurance companies are making millions. I saw firsthand the astronomical bills that were charged as my father neared the end of his life.

I would like to ask our senators to take their time with this bill. Make sure the CBO has checked it out. This might be impossible to ask, but let both parties work on this bill. This is not a Republican or a Democratic issue. This affects the lives of all people in the USA. Let all Americans have the type of health care insurance that you in Congress are able to get. Think compassionately.
