Moms should be remembered daily
When Mother's Day comes around, I am reminded of my mom's sacrifices, love, blessings and comfort. When I was young she supported me in all my educational and extra curricular pursuits. When I started college, her support extended to finishing my Master's degree without fail.
I was inspired by mother's own endeavor in education and as well as my grandmother's informal love of mathematics and languages. My father's mother was also in love with the teaching profession.
Islam fundamentally teaches every man woman and child to pursue knowledge. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, of which I am a member, has many programs supporting education such as a medical association, online mathematics training and a new elementary school, Masroor Academy, in Glen Ellyn.
Mothers especially help their children with these pursuits. With all these blessings mothers should be remembered daily, not just once a year.
