A pledge to cooperate

Each election is a very humbling experience and this election was more than the others. I am thankful and appreciative for the outstanding support I received from so many people in the District 211 school board campaign. I am also grateful for the community forums and the opportunity to hear comments and concerns from the community.

No matter the person elected, the winner should be the students and how the board members can enhance student education. For I believe it is how well we work together on common goals for the future that should be the basis for the continued success of District 211.

I strive to add value to the board with my ability to work with others, ask questions, work for consensus and most of all put the needs of all of our students first. I understand I will not always be able to make everyone "happy;" however, if I can help a student become successful in whatever "successful" means to them, that is what is important to me.

I believe life is about the people you meet and the things you create with them - I want to create a bright and meaningful future for all children. I ask everyone to open their mind, arms and heart to new things and people, for we are united in our differences. My commitment to openness, honesty and communication are unwavering and continue to be my pledge to the community.
