Hultgren town hall was appreciated

Many thanks to the Central Kane League of Women Voters, Ron Onesti and U.S. Rep. Randy Hultgren for organizing, hosting and participating in the April 18 Town Hall at the Arcada Theater.

I differ from Rep. Hultgren on many issues, but I appreciated his taking the time to explain his positions. I still don't agree with him on most issues, but I have a greater understanding. I hope he also has a greater understanding of his constituents' concerns.

Voters in this district are clearly hungry for occasions to meet with Rep. Hultgren. The League of Women Voters received 400 questions from attendees which they consolidated into those posed to Rep. Hultgren.

Not all questions were asked; not all questions asked received a complete answer. Since a representative's term is only two years, I encourage Rep. Hultgren to hold town hall meetings with his constituents every year, in each of the seven counties in the district. I also encourage residents of the 14th Congressional District to send letters to and to call his office to make sure our voices are heard.
