In the western suburbs, there are plenty of opportunities for children who want to excel athletically at the elementary school level, but what about those who struggle with the basic skills? Recognizing this need, former physical education teacher, fitness enthusiast and parent Bruce Levin is launching "Skills, Drills & Games", a physical education program designed for the student who needs to build athletic confidence in a non-intimidating setting. "Mastering the basic skills of sports can help children boost their confidence fitting into social situations where sports are casually played, such as birthday parties, family reunions, picnics, boy scout outings, etc.," said Levin. "This confidence can contribute to a child's overall well-being in many ways, like contributing to teams and making new friends."
