Reflejos takes gold for Outstanding Bilingual Publication

Reflejos Publications has been named as the Outstanding Bilingual Publication by the National Association of Hispanic Publications at its 31st annual convention in Las Vegas.

"NAHP now consists of over 180 publications, serving Latino communities all over the United States, so this is quite an honor," said Linda Siete, manager of sales and operations for Reflejos.

"In the 28 years that Reflejos has been publishing, we have been very fortunate to be recognized each year with several honors by NAHP," Siete said. "This however, is extremely meaningful, as the communities we serve appreciate that much of the information we share each week comes to them in a format that every member of their family can read. Our bilingual content continues to be used in classrooms from grade school through college, which also presents our advertisers with a younger consumer base as well."

Reflejos, which has been a part of the Daily Herald Media Group and Paddock Publications for 18 years, also earned three other awards:

• Silver for its annual Wedding & Quinceañera Guide.

• Silver for the annual Health & Wellness Guides.

• Bronze for an editorial series that addressed "Generations of Hispanics at Risk" and what schools are doing in different parts of the Reflejos footprint to create positive outcomes.

NAHP Latino media awards highlight the best of Latino media with its awards for content (writing), visual (photos and design), sales (marketing), as well as digital (websites, newsletters and e-publications).
