Beer garden in Lake Zurich sets opening date

Sunset Pavilion at Breezewald Park on Lake Zurich will officially open to the public at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 28.

The business will offer a selection of alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks, as well as light food options. Craft beer, wine, gelato, flat breads, charcuterie boards are a few of the menu items, according to the owners.

Sunset Pavilion is a village-built beer garden that will be operated by the owners of the restaurant across the street.

The village approved a two-year lease agreement with PB & S Investments LLC, the company that owns Scoreboard Bar and Grill. Stefani Jerard of PB & S Investments said operating Sunset Pavilion will be a familiar experience. She said that when she was younger she helped run a concession stand in Breezewald Park.

The village hopes the $157,000 facility, funded by the developer of the nearby Somerset by the Lake luxury rental community, will attract people to the lake and downtown. The village board approved spending about $28,500 on lumber for the deck. The plan also includes providing tables and benches, umbrellas and Edison-style lighting to create a welcoming atmosphere at the pavilion.
