Schaumburg Toyota Tent Sale back by popular demand

If you wondered where the Schaumburg Toyota Tent Sale was in 2017, you weren't the only one. Back by popular demand is the 2018 version of the pre-driven vehicle sale, located in the southeast parking lot of Woodfield Mall near Sears in Schaumburg. This year's event started Monday and will continue through Saturday during mall hours, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

The Tent Sale has been an annual event since 2004, presenting an unparalleled collection of pre-owned vehicles at low prices. It's back this year after skipping 2017 because the sale's sponsor, Schaumburg Toyota of the Resnick Auto Group, was spending its first full year in its new headquarters at 875 W. Schaumburg Road. As the largest dealership in the Resnick family, Schaumburg Toyota management focused on bringing the new, rebuilt facility fully up to speed.

"Our focus in 2017 was on our brand new facility, making sure we could better serve our current and future customers there," said Chris Haley, Schaumburg Toyota general manager.

This annual pre-owned event, initiated in 2004, has proved so popular that the Resnick Auto Group couldn't skip another year. At this year's Tent Sale, customers will find more than 500 pre-owned vehicles at a variety of price points, including several under $1,000, to luxury vehicles as much as $20,000. All are priced competitively, with many under $10,000. No offer will be refused.

As in the past, Haley has personally traveled the United States in search of the best available pre-owned cars to bring to Schaumburg for the Tent Sale. Customers will find quality used cars of every make and model, including many different types of vehicles - subcompacts and compacts, family sedans and SUVs, as well as sports cars, pickup trucks and everything in between.

"The Tent Sale is a great place to come to buy a safe car for a recent graduate, someone who is going off to college or if you need an additional car for a new driver in your family," Haley said.

One of the major pluses of shopping at the Tent Sale is the quality of vehicles that shoppers will find there. Every vehicle has received a full inspection by the mechanics at Schaumburg Toyota, with a checklist that covers more than 100 different items such as the engine, suspension, electronics, safety features and other major vehicle systems.

The quality aspect goes even further. All vehicles have had road tests performed by Schaumburg Toyota personnel and have had fluid levels in brake, transmission and other systems checked and topped off. Many of the available vehicles come with limited warranties and if buyers want further peace of mind, they can purchase optional extended warranties. Carfax reports are also available for every vehicle at the Tent Sale.

As in previous years, buyers will be able to come away from the Tent Sale with a car, no matter what their financial status. Vehicles will be available for down payments as low as $49 and a $99 per month finance payment.

"We will have personnel from several different banks and financial organizations on site, including Toyota Financial Services, to give customers a variety of options to finance their vehicles," Haley said. "No one who wants a car will leave the sale without one."

As in the past, the Tent Sale will have food and refreshments available to customers. Anyone attending can also enter a raffle to win prizes such as and an iPad and tickets for Cubs and White Sox games.

Car buyers will find several other available perks at this year's Tent Sale. In addition to the optional warranties, you may also customize your car to make it truly yours with accessories that speak to your individual style. Buyers can add elements such as body side molding, pinstripes, different wheels and a remote starter. The last element, Haley adds, is a particularly popular add-on.

"If customers want to preserve the look of their new pre-driven vehicle, they can also purchase a full environmental protection plan that will keep their vehicle looking like new for years to come," Haley said.

Another available option is Toyota Personal Assistant. Purchasing a one-year or 1,000-minute plan gives you access to a concierge telephone number where you can receive help with making hotel reservations, book sporting events, schedule service and get answers to questions about your vehicle and a long list of other services. This concierge service is available 24/7 via telephone, text or email.

You can even buy insurance for your new vehicle if you need it. "The idea is to make the Tent Sale a one-stop shop for all of your car needs," Haley said.

Schaumburg Toyota will fully staff the sale with salespeople fluent in many different languages. Customers will be able to ask questions and learn about the vehicles that interest them in Polish, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog, Korean, Bulgarian, Hindi and many more.

"Because of the current market demand, there is a huge demand for these types of vehicles," Haley said.

All vehicles at this public offering will be sold by the end of the event. All reasonable offers will be considered in an effort to completely sell the Tent Sale inventory.
