Escape room business coming to Schaumburg

Four different escape-room concepts will open later this year just west of Woodfield Mall in the Three National Plaza office building at 999 Plaza Drive in Schaumburg.

Georgia-based Odyssey Escape Game has received village approval to build its entertainment venue on the ground floor, where four of its escape-room games will be available - "Prison Break," "Tower Inferno," "Titanic" and "Jack the Ripper."

Players have an hour to find clues and confer on how to solve each room's puzzles and escape. Each game is monitored by staff members and Schaumburg is requiring that no rooms be actually locked.

A representative of Odyssey Escape Game said they're aiming for an August opening, but the exact time frame for construction may not be entirely within the company's control.
