Bo-Bo's Gyros partners with Northern Illinois Food Bank

Bo-Bo's Gyros, a restaurant in Vernon Hills for more than 24 years, announced a new campaign to help feed the hungry in Lake County.

Partnering with the Northern Illinois Food Bank, Bo-Bo's began donating 10 percent of its in-house sales every Wednesday to the food pantry. The idea behind the campaign is simple - come in, enjoy your meal, and the owners of Bo-Bo's Gyros of Vernon Hills share proceeds with the Food Bank.

Bo-Bo's co-owner Thom Rizzo, said, "We are a family-owned local business, and we were looking for a way to give back to our community. We think it makes sense to share our success in the food business with those who aren't as fortunate as we are and may not know where their next meal is coming from."

This is a new effort, and Bo-Bo's customers have responded to call. "Our customers let us know that they think this is a great idea, and they also like helping people in their own backyard," Co-owner Bill Kron, said.

"We'd like to thank the people at Bo-Bo's for their support," said Andrew Palmer at Northern Illinois Food Bank.
