Computer programming school opening in Highland Park

TheCoderSchool, recently identified as one of Entrepreneur magazine's hottest brands, said it is opening its first school in Illinois on April 21 in Highland Park.

The new school, located at 1929 Sheridan Road in Highland Park, will be the theCoderSchool's first of several locations that owners Justin Brown and Chad Kreindler ultimately plan to open throughout the Chicagoland area in the coming years. With extensive experience in educational technology, the duo was drawn to theCoderSchool as a result of their strong belief in coding as a critical part of ensuring that the next generation learns how to think critically and logically.

"We are so excited to introduce theCoderSchool to Highland Park," said Kreindler, who has spent the last nine years in EdTech. "Coders and programmers are sorely needed in this country right now, and that's certainly true here in the North Shore. We use a 2-on-1, project-based coaching approach to fill a long-existing void - getting kids involved with coding at a young age and having lots of fun, while improving ideation and creative thinking skills."

Founded by Hansel Lynn and incubated with the help of his best friend, Wayne Teng, theCoderSchool was built with the desire to provide children aged 7 to 18 years with a welcoming environment to develop computer programming skills. theCoderSchool uses a variety of platforms to teach various coding languages, such as HTML, CSS, Python, Javascript and more. Every Code Coaching lesson is customized with the help of trained Code CoachesĀ® who use a 2-on-1 approach to teaching.

Founded in 2014 and franchising since 2016, theCoderSchool, a Silicon Valley-based children's enterprise franchise, provides computer programming lessons to children ages 7 to 18.
