Cinnamon Bistro closes in Lake Zurich

Cinnamon Bistro in Lake Zurich has quietly closed.

The eatery, known for its inventive vegetarian cuisine, exquisite presentation and leisurely paced service, opened just over two years ago at 751 W. Route 22 in the corner of the strip mall near Trader Joe's.

The Web site and phone number do not indicate the establishment has closed. But a sign on the door states the business is no longer in operation. The owners could not be reached for comment.

Renata Pawlicka, who had previous restaurant experience in her native Poland and Germany, operated the business that had quaint outdoor seating in the summer. She ran the busines with her husband, Davek. The owners pledged ingredients that were 99 percent organic, and the all-vegetarian vegan-friendly selections were created with color.

"The authentic menu items are all made based on the four seasons, and incorporate vegetarian cooking from grandma's old recipes. Every dish is made by our wonderful chef who has a vast career working with the finest hotels and restaurants in Krakow," the Web site said.
