The Gnome Colony Co. opens in Glen Ellyn

The Gnome Colony Co. recently opened in downtown Glen Ellyn.

Michael Perich is the owner of the store that he describes as "a store full of love, whimsy and wishes."

The shop is at 485 N. Main St. "I designed my store to be everything I love in life and to share every ounce of that with women," he said.

The 1,700-square-foot shop offers clothing, jewelry, accessories, makeup, skin care and home décor. Perich says he enjoys "classic fashions with elements that can take everything up a notch that are not only extremely versatile, but very multi-season friendly."

He added that "the world is a cruel place and I have created a sanctuary for women to escape reality for a moment while they have a visual treat for the eyes during their shopping experience."
