Portillo's launches 'Get Obsessed' advertising campaign

Portillo's said it launched a new advertising campaign called “Get Obsessed.”

The Oak Brook-based restaurant giant partnered with Chicago-based brand agency Schafer Condon Carter to produce the campaign. To convey just how “obsessed” customers become after experiencing the taste of Portillo's, the ad spots feature real social media posts from Portillo's fans. Portillo's restaurant staff are also featured in the ad spots, reciting and reacting to social media musings like, “If my last meal isn't Portillo's, I'm haunting the world.”

“We are thrilled to partner with SCC, a top-notch, independent agency known for their work with iconic national brands,” says Nick Scarpino, Portillo's vice president of marketing and public relations.

Portillo's ”Get Obsessed” TV commercials begin airing this week in the Minneapolis-St. Paul market. SCC also collaborated with the brand to create 26 digital spots for Portillo's social media channels and placed nine billboards in the areas around the brand's Maple Grove, Minnesota and Woodbury, Minnesota restaurants. The commercial spots can be found online.

“As lifelong fans of Portillo's, we were thrilled at the chance to work together,” says Denny Hebson, SCC's executive creative director.
