Taco Bell proposed for Elburn

A developer wants to build a Taco Bell in Elburn.

The village's Plan Commission will take a first look at the preliminary proposal at a meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at village hall, 301 E. North St.

Aetna Development Corp. wants to put it in the Prairie Valley North Commercial Center, which is on the northeast corner of routes 47 and 38.

The restaurant would be built to the north of the Walgreens drugstore.

The commission could discuss village employee's concerns about the flow of traffic to and from the restaurant, deliveries, the noise from speakers at the drive-up lane, and the placement of garbage and grease containers, according to a memo.

The review is considered a pre-application meeting. If the developer decides to proceed, it would have to file an application to amend the site plan for the shopping center.
