Roka Akor to open in Oak Brook

JNK Concepts restaurant group has opened Roka Akor at 166 Oakbrook Center in Oak Brook.

The Michelin Guide-recommended restaurant's menu will offer a steak program featuring Japanese and Domestic Wagyu selections, including the coveted Certified Kobe beef.

Roka Akor will be among a select group of restaurants in the Chicago area to offer certified Japanese Wagyu. The menu will also offer Prime American cuts, from longtime purveyors and partners such as Greater Omaha and Snake River Farms, grilled over a select blend of charcoal in the robata grill.

Sushi counter guests - with six prime seats available - will enjoy premium, exotic, and rare fish selected daily by Roka's expert culinary team. The sushi program, named "Best Sushi Restaurant in the U.S." by Travel + Leisure and "Top 10 Sushi Spots in the United States" by Bon Appétit, features fresh fish that will be flown in daily. It is served with fresh wasabi that is grated tableside, house-made soy sauce, and Himalayan rock salt - a delicate seasoning that does not interfere with the natural flavor of the fish.

Roka Bar's cocktail program has been crafted to complement the Japanese cuisine while also reflecting the local region. The seasonally-inspired Roka Fashioned is Roka's take on a traditional Old Fashioned using Iwai, Angostura Bitters, Regan's Orange Bitters, Swath of Orange & Lemon Oils, and Okinawa Black Sugar. Roka Bar's beverage menu will also include an impressive list of house-made shochu, a popular Japanese distilled spirit infused with flavors like mango and chili, and pineapple, as well as a wide selection of Japanese beer.

Roka Akor is open for lunch Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and for dinner daily from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Roka Bar will offer Happy Hour daily from 4:30 p.m. - 6 p.m.
