Round Lake Beach Aldi re-opening next week

The Aldi store in Round Lake Beach will celebrate its grand reopening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8:25 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26.

The store at 74 W. Rollins Road had been undergoing renovations as part of a $1.6 billion program by the company to improve and expand its more than 1,300 stores in the U.S. About $180 million of that effort is being dedicated to upgrades at 130 stores in the Chicago area.

According to the company, the store's new look delivers on its customers' desire for a modern and convenient shopping experience with a focus on fresh items, including more robust produce, dairy and bakery sections.

Remodeled stores also will feature a modern design, open ceilings, natural lighting and environmentally-friendly building materials - such as recycled materials, energy-saving refrigeration and LED lighting.
