Kings bowling alley in Rosemont to add sports bar

Kings, the 27,000-square-foot bowling alley and bar/restaurant in Rosemont's entertainment district, is reconfiguring one of its bars into a sports bar called The Draft Room, opening next month.

The 2,775-square-foot area will feature a 75-foot long bar with 40 beers on tap, three 14-foot LED television panels, and three garage doors that will open to an expanded beer garden-style patio. A private event space called the MVP Dining Room will be available for up to 40, while the entire Draft Room will be available for larger events for up to 350, officials said.

The sports bar will be open to all ages daily until 10 p.m., when it will become a 21+ venue with live DJs on Fridays and Saturdays.

To help pay for the upgrades, the village is giving Kings $1.2 million in tenant allowance that must be repaid in rent payments over nine years. Village officials say they hope it will lead to increased tax revenues.
