Air quality warnings posted for balance of holiday weekend

CHICAGO (AP) - The state of Illinois says hot weather could make the air unhealthy for the rest of the holiday weekend.

An air pollution alert has been extended to Sunday and Monday. Air quality in Chicago and surrounding counties has reached the orange category, which means it's unhealthy for certain people with breathing problems. Ground-level ozone is high.

It's possible the alert could reach the unhealthy red category.
