Woodfield Mall dining pavilion to open Friday

Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg will open its $20 million, 820-seat dining pavilion at noon Friday, May 18.

Just in time for lunch, the pavilion's first restaurants serving visitors that day will be Blaze Pizza and Maoz Falafel & Grill.

They will be followed soon after by Nic's Organic Fast Food, Charleys Philly Steaks, Suki Hana and Wok A Holic.

Chipotle Mexican Grill is scheduled to open in June, along with other eateries yet to be announced.

More than 12 restaurants are expected when the dining pavilion is fully occupied, joining about 30 others elsewhere in the mall.

The new area is on the upper level of the Sears wing, replacing FYE - For Your Entertainment and A'Gaci, which have moved to other locations.

The refurbished space will include natural light through ceiling-to-floor picture windows, soft-seating conversational areas and large-screen TVs.

Friday's opening will be accompanied by a ribbon-cutting ceremony presided over by Schaumburg Mayor Al Larson and Woodfield Mall General Manager Kurt Webb.
