Relegation-threatened Chievo fires Maran after Roma loss

VERONA, Italy (AP) - Relegation-threatened Chievo Verona has fired coach Rolando Maran following a 4-1 loss at 10-man Roma.

Chievo announced that youth squad coach and former Chievo captain Lorenzo D'Anna would replace Maran for the final three matches of the season.

It's the 10th coaching change in the 20-team league this season.

Maran was in his fourth season at Chievo, having helped the club avoid relegation in the last three years. The team's best finish in his tenure was ninth in 2016.
