Body found in White River in Indianapolis identified

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - A man whose body was pulled from the White River in Indianapolis has been identified as a resident of suburban Hamilton County.

The Marion County coroner's office identified him Tuesday as 43-year-old Daniel Leo Carr Jr. of the Home Place neighborhood just north of Indianapolis.

Carr had last been seen leaving his home there on a mountain bike the evening of March 5. His body was found Thursday under the Westfield Bridge near the Monon Trail, just north of Broad Ripple. A person had called police after spotting the body.

Authorities say it's not clear how Carr ended up in the river. The cause and manner of death are pending further investigation.
