Wyoming Cowgirls beat New Mexico 69-66 Tuesday night

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Taylor Rusk scored a career-high 21 points as the Wyoming Cowgirls overcame a 17-point first half deficit to beat New Mexico 69-66 on Tuesday night in the Mountain West Conference tournament.

It was the first time since the 2015 season that the Cowgirls (21-9) have won a conference tournament game.

Wyoming coach Joe Legerski says there didn't seem to be a great deal of panic in the locker room at halftime despite the Lobos being up by 15.

Rusk scored 15 of her 21 points in the second half, while bringing down a team-high eight rebounds.

Senior Natalie Baker finished with 14 points and eight boards followed by junior Marta Gomez with 13 points and six rebounds. Senior Liv Roberts added 11 points and six boards.

New Mexico (23-10) was led by Jaisa Nunn with 20 points and 14 rebounds.
