US to host Paraguay in March exhibition in North Carolina

CHICAGO (AP) - Likely to still be without a new coach, the U.S. soccer team will host Paraguay in an exhibition on March 27 in Cary, North Carolina.

The U.S. Soccer Federation announced the game on Monday. It also confirmed exhibitions against Ireland in Dublin on June 2 and versus France at Lyon on June 9.

Bruce Arena quit as coach in October after the Americans failed to qualify for the World Cup, ending a streak of seven straight appearances in soccer's showcase. The U.S. has played a pair of matches under interim coach Dave Sarachan, tying 1-1 at Portugal in November and 0-0 at home against Bosnia-Herzegovina last month.

Carlos Cordeiro was elected to succeed Sunil Gulati as USSF president on Saturday and said a general manager of the men's team will be hired who will lead the search for a coach. It's not clear whether the search will be delayed until after the World Cup, which runs from June 14 to July 15.
