Gophers staff shuffle continues with 2 new assistants on D

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota head coach P.J. Fleck has hired two new assistants on his staff for his second season, with Jahmile Addae as the defensive backs coach and Marcus West as the defensive line pass rush specialist.

The additions were finalized Thursday. Addae, who was the defensive backs coach at Arizona last year, replaces Maurice Linguist, who was promoted to assistant head coach by Fleck before leaving for Texas A&M to be the cornerbacks coach. West, who was the defensive coordinator last season at Austin Peay, replaces Bryce Paup.

Fleck also assigned Clay Patterson, who was hired last month without a specific role, to coach the tight ends and shifted Brian Callahan from the tight ends to offensive line. Callahan replaces Ed Warinner, who joined Michigan's staff as an offensive assistant.
