Rutgers names Nunzio Campanile running backs coach

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) - Rutgers has named Nuzio Campanile as its running backs coach.

Coach Chris Ash announced the hiring of the Bergen Catholic High School coach on Wednesday.

Campanile spent the past eight years at Bergen Catholic, posting a 60-28 record and winning a state title last season. The Crusaders averaged more than 35 points during his tenure.

Campanile also worked at Don Bosco Prep, helping the Ironmen win six state titles in 10 seasons. He mentored quarterbacks Mike Teel and Gary Nova during that time, with both later setting passing records at Rutgers.
