Tennessee announces its spring game will take place April 21

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee will hold the first spring game of Jeremy Pruitt's coaching tenure April 21 at 2 p.m.

The school announced on Tuesday the date for its annual Orange and White Game. Tennessee hasn't yet announced when it will be opening spring practice.

Tennessee is trying to bounce back from a 4-8 season in which it set a school record for losses and finished winless in Southeastern Conference play for the first time since the league's formation in 1933.

Pruitt was hired to replace Butch Jones, who was fired after posting a 34-27 record in five seasons. Pruitt most recently served as defensive coordinator at Alabama and helped the Crimson Tide win the 2017 national title.
