Ibis' career game sends Arizona State past Utah 83-81

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Kianna Ibis scored a career-high 30 points and Jamie Ruden made a go-ahead layup with 12 seconds to go as Arizona State beat Utah 83-81 on Sunday.

Ruden hit a 3 to break a tie at 77 with less than a minute left but Tilar Clark made two free throws to bring Utah within a point. After an Ibis miss, Megan Huff was fouled with 22 seconds to play and she sank a pair of free throws to put the Utes up by a point. Sophia Elenga capped it with a steal and free throw.

Arizona State (11-3, 2-0 Pac 12) raced to a 34-19 lead at the end of the first quarter but struggled to score in the second period and put up just nine points.

Robbi Ryan finished with 14 points for the Sun Devils, which shot 32 of 67 (48 percent) from the field.

Huff led Utah (10-3, 1-1) with 22 points, Daneesha Provo 18, Erika Bean 13 and Clark and Tanaeya BoClair each scored 12.
