Ole Miss guard Sessom out for season

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - Ole Miss senior guard Shandricka Sessom is out for season with a torn knee ligament.

The Oxford Eagle reports Sessom suffered the ACL injury early in the Rebels' win over Middle Tennessee State on Wednesday.

Having only played in seven games Sessom will redshirt and return for another senior season in 2018.

Coach Matt Insell, in a statement, said losing Sessom is a tough blow for the team and for her.

Sessom was named preseason second team All-SEC and was averaging 17.7 points and ranks 24th all-time at Ole Miss with 1,131 career points.

The Rebels (6-1) host Arkansas State on Saturday at 3 p.m.
