EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) - The Latest on a police chase in Evansville that ended with a crash that killed two children (all times local):

Southwestern Indiana police say a pursuit that ended when a fleeing motorist crashed into another car, fatally injuring two children, began when officers tried to stop the man because his car had false plates.
Evansville Police Sgt. Jason Cullum said Thursday that Wednesday night's chase lasted about four minutes and ended when 26-year-old Fredrick McFarland ran a stop sign and crashed into another vehicle at that intersection.
The crash fatally injured 7-month-old Prince Carter and his 2-year-old sister, Princess Carter. Cullum says the deaths are the first in Evansville involving a police chase since September 2009.
Cullum says McFarland remains hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
He says the woman driving the car carrying the two youngsters was hospitalized with serious injuries and her passenger has life-threatening injuries.

A southwestern Indiana coroner says two young children were killed when a car Evansville police officers were pursuing crashed into another vehicle.
Vanderburgh County Coroner Steve Lockyear on Thursday identified the crash victims as seven-month-old Prince Carter and 2-year-old Princess Carter.
Authorities scheduled a Thursday afternoon news conference to release additional details in the fatal crash.
Evansville police say 26-year-old Fredrick McFarland was fleeing from officers when his vehicle entered an intersection and collided with a second car Wednesday night.
Several people were taken to the hospital from the scene of the crash. One of the children died Wednesday night and the other died early Thursday.
Police say McFarland remains hospitalized with crash injuries.

Authorities say two people are dead after a police chase in Evansville ended when the car officers were pursuing crashed into another vehicle.
Evansville police say officers were chasing a car driven by 26-year-old Fredrick McFarland when his car entered an intersection and plowed into a second vehicle Wednesday night in the southwestern Indiana city.
Several people were hospitalized and Vanderburgh County's coroner confirmed Wednesday night that one crash victim had died. Evansville police said early Thursday that a second person had died.
The victims' names are being withheld pending notification of relatives. Autopsies were scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
Police say McFarland remains hospitalized with crash injuries. He faces a preliminary felony charge of fleeing from police.
It wasn't immediately clear what sparked Wednesday night's police chase.
