US women to play Denmark in San Diego on Jan. 21

CHICAGO (AP) - The U.S. women's national team will pay Denmark on Jan. 21 in San Diego in preparation for World Cup qualifying later in the year.

Denmark, ranked No. 13 in the world, advanced to the final of the UEFA Women's Euro in August but fell 4-2 to Netherlands for the title. The last time the two teams met, at the 2014 Algarve Cup, Denmark won 5-2.

The top-ranked Americans are 16-5-3 overall in the series.

The game will be played at San Diego County Credit Union Stadium, formerly Qualcomm Stadium.
