No. 6 Notre Dame women beat No. 3 South Carolina 92-85

ESTERO, Fla. (AP) - Arike Ogunbowale scored 23 points, Jackie Young added 22 and No. 6 Notre Dame beat No. 3 South Carolina 92-85 on Sunday night to take the Gulf Coast Showcase championship and snap the defending national champion Gamecocks' 17-game winning streak.

Marina Mabrey scored 12 points and Jessica Shepard had 10 for the Irish (6-0), They trailed by 12 points early in the second quarter and then went on a 37-12 run over the next 14 minutes.

A'ja Wilson had a career-best 34 points for South Carolina (6-1), which hadn't lost since Feb. 19. Alexis Jennings and Doniyah Cliney each scored 12 points for the Gamecocks.

Notre Dame - which trailed 8-0 and 30-18 early - made seven consecutive shots in the second quarter to get back into the game, then had another 7-for-7 stretch early in the fourth.

NO. 13 FLORIDA STATE 87, SAMFORD 62

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Shakayla Thomas scored 29 points and No. 13 Florida State beat Samford.

mani Wright and Nausia Woolfolk added 14 points apiece for the Seminoles (6-0), and Ama Degbeon had 11 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks.

Hannah Nichols scored 20 points for the Bulldogs (2-4).

NO. 15 MARYLAND 79, MIAMI 71

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) - Ieshia Small had a career-high 23 points and 10 rebounds for her first double and Maryland held off Miami to win the Miami Thanksgiving Tournament.

Kaila Charles added 18 points and 12 rebounds for the Terrapins (5-2). Mykea Gray had 21 points for Miami (4-2).

NO. 17 USF 68, ST. JOHN'S 59

Maria Jespersen scored 25 points, and No. 17 South Florida held on to beat St. John's in the third-place game at the Gulf Coast Showcase.

Kitija Laksa scored 18 for the Bulls (6-1). They shot 48 percent from 3-point range. Andrayah Adams had 15 points for St. John's (3-2).

NO. 19 TEXAS A&M 90, TEXAS TECH 56

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Chennedy Carter scored a Texas A&M freshman record 30 points, and Danni Williams added 14 points in her homecoming game.

Texas A&M (4-1) scored the opening 10 points, extended it to 26-3 and led by 29 points at the end of the first quarter with a program-record 34 points. Williams is from Clovis, New Mexico.

Brittany Brewer led Texas Tech (3-2) with 12 points.

NO. 25 KENTUCKY 69, MARSHALL 39

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Alyssa Rice scored a career-high 19 points and had 10 rebounds for the senior's first career double-double, and Kentucky used a 20-0 second-quarter run to rout Marshall.

Maci Morris added 15 points for Wildcats (6-0). Asheika Alexander scored 18 points for the Thundering Herd (1-4).
