Louisiana-Lafayette uses late picks to beat NM State 47-34

LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - Jordan Davis accounted for three TDs and Louisiana-Lafayette intercepted three passes in the fourth quarter for a 47-34 win over New Mexico State on Saturday night.

The Ragin' Cajuns (5-5, 4-2 Sun Belt) took the lead on Davis' 33-yard TD pass to Ryheem Malone with 10:21 left. The teams traded punts and then backup quarterback Nick Jeanty threw the first of three late interceptions with Jacques Boudreaux returning it 50 yards to set up a short field for another Cajuns touchdown.

Two plays into New Mexico State's next possession, Jeanty threw another pick to Justin Middleton over the middle. The Aggies (4-6, 2-4) forced a three-and-out, and Jeanty led the Aggies most of the way down field but threw his third interception - this one to Koa Haynes.

Trey Ragas had 132 yards rushing and two scores for Louisiana-Lafayette. Malone had 113 yards receiving and a TD. Davis passed for 203 yards and two TDs and ran for 71 yards and another score.

Tyler Rogers passed for 184 yards and a touchdown, mostly in the first half for New Mexico State. He left in the third quarter after taking a hit and having his shoulder looked at. The Aggies erased an 18-point deficit before the Cajuns finally pulled away.
