No. 19 Texas A&M women to host TCU in Maggie Dixon Classic

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - The Maggie Dixon Classic will be played in Texas and include the women's team from TCU, where her brother Jamie Dixon is the men's coach.

TCU's game will be played at No. 19 Texas A&M on Dec. 6.

The event has been held annually since 2006 in honor of the late 28-year-old Army coach. Maggie Dixon died of an arrhythmia on April 6, 2006, just weeks after leading the Black Knights to their first NCAA Tournament.

Jamie Dixon said Friday he's thrilled that Texas A&M will host this year's classic and it's special for him to have TCU taking part.

The inaugural Maggie Dixon Classic was played at West Point in 2006. It was held for several years at Madison Square Garden.
