South Carolina to host Charlotte in football in 2022

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina will be taking on Charlotte in 2022 in the first-ever meeting between the schools.
Both universities announced the matchup Wednesday. The game will take place on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022, at Williams-Brice Stadium.
Charlotte is a member of Conference USA, moving up to the Football Bowl Subdivision in 2015 after two years competing in the Football Championship Subdivision.
The Gamecocks are 12-1-1 all-time against Conference USA teams including a win earlier this season against Louisiana Tech.
South Carolina has 10 games scheduled for the 2022 and said it will announce its two other opponents at a later date.
