COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) - A'ja Wilson had a career-high 32 points and 12 rebounds, and defending NCAA champion South Carolina withstood a late charge by No. 15 Maryland to escape with a 94-86 victory Monday night.

The fourth-ranked Gamecocks (2-0) let a 26-point lead dwindle to 87-84 before Tyasha Harris made a three-point play with 23 seconds left to clinch it.

South Carolina has only two returning starters from last season's squad, but one of them is Wilson - and that appears to plenty good enough. The 6-foot-5 senior had 18 points by halftime and finished with her 32nd career double-double.

Wilson went 10 for 19 from the field and made 12 of 18 free throws. Her previous career high was 31 points, against Texas last December.

Harris, South Carolina's other returning starter, had 20 points and nine assists. Alexis Jennings contributed 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Kaila Charles led Maryland (1-1) with 31 points and Blair Watson had 14.

NEW MEXICO 88, No. 16 MARQUETTE 87

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Jaisa Nunn converted a three-point play with 1.8 seconds to play and finished with a career-high 39 points, giving New Mexico an upset win over Marquette.

Cherise Beynon missed a jumper from the foul line but Nunn grabbed the rebounded over Natisha Hiedeman on the right side of the lane and flipped the ball in before tumbling to the court.

Alllazia Blockton's long 3-pointer was off target at the buzzer for Marquette (0-1).

Nunn made 14 of 15 shots, 11 of 12 free throws and had a career-best 13 rebounds. She had 20 points in the second half as the Lobos (2-0) rallied from a 12-point first-quarter deficit. Freshman Jasmine Smith added 17 points.

Marquette rallied from seven down early in the fourth quarter, taking a 75-74 lead as Lauren Van Kleunen's 3-pointer capped an 8-0 run. Van Kleunen, who freshman who had 23 points, hit two free throws with 13.6 seconds to go to put the Golden Eagles up 87-85.

DEPAUL 111, No. 21 OKLAHOMA 108, OT

CHICAGO (AP) - Amarah Coleman hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer and the Blue Demons outlasted Oklahoma.

Coleman, a 5-foot-11 senior, dribbled toward the top of the key then cut to the right wing and hit a step-back shot over 6-2 Sooner guard Maddie Manning.

The last time the teams met was in the 2014 NCAA Tournament first round with DePaul winning 104-100, the highest-scoring game in tournament history. Neither team had a double-figure lead in the rematch.

Coleman, who had two of her five 3s and eight points in OT, scored 23 points to help DePaul (1-1) bounced back from a season-opening 94-88 loss to Northern Colorado that dropped the Blue Demons out of the rankings.

Vionise Pierre-Louis had 25 points on 10-of-13 shooting and 16 rebounds for the Sooners (2-0).
