3 accused of using skimming device on ATM to steal $25,000

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (AP) - Three men have been arrested on charges that they used a skimming device in suburban Chicago to record ATM card and PIN numbers to steal more than $25,000.

The Naperville Sun reports that the men were arrested on criminal enterprise charges after Naperville police conducted a four-month investigation.

Police say the investigation that began when they discovered a skimmer device that allows the person to obtain the ATM card and PIN numbers had been placed at a Naperville ATM machine. Police alleged that the suspects used that information to make "multiple cash transactions."

Arrested were 48-year-old Alin Doina of Elk Grove Village, 47-year-old Dorin Marchidan of Glenview and 43-year-old Adrian Popa of Glenview. None of them could be reached for comment because they don't have listed telephone numbers.
