UCLA starting QB Josh Rosen out with concussion against Utah

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen missed the Bruins' game Friday night at Utah because of a concussion.

The junior starter did not make the trip after sustaining the concussion last week against No. 12 Washington. Redshirt freshman Devon Modster will make his first career start.

Rosen's 339.1 passing yards per game ranks No. 4 in the nation and he's expected to be a high first-round draft pick if he decides to leave after the season. He's No. 8 in the nation in total offense with 333.9 yards per game.

Modster has thrown for 82 yards and a touchdown with a 53.3 completion percentage in two games. He signed with UCLA as a four-star prospect according to 247Sports and was the No. 13 pro-style quarterback in the 2016 class.
