Melbourne City stays unbeaten atop A-League

SYDNEY (AP) - Scotland striker Ross McCormack scored from a free kick for Melbourne City to beat Wellington Phoenix 1-0 and remain unbeaten atop the A-League.

City's third win from three matches left it two points clear of defending champion Sydney FC, which came from behind to draw with Western Sydney Wanderers 2-2.

Western Sydney was also unbeaten in third place, tied with Adelaide United, which drew with Melbourne Victory 2-2.
