Dawn Staley done discussing possible White House invite

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina coach Dawn Staley says she is "over" wondering when or if her national champions would get an invitation to the White House.

Staley and the Gamecocks won the women's basketball NCAA Tournament crown in April. Soon after cutting down the nets, Staley said she would go to the White House if invited because that's what champions do. On Sept. 30, she said now she's not sure if she would even accept an invitation.

The office of U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said over the weekend an invite would be coming later this fall. Haley, the former South Carolina governor, is friends with Staley.

Staley said Wednesday she's no longer spending time worrying about the visit and that the NCAA Tournament "is the only invite I'm looking forward to."
