Crawfordsville police shoot at actor portraying bank robber

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. (AP) - Indiana State Police say they're investigating a shot fired by local police in western Indiana at a movie actor portraying a bank robber.

They say the Crawfordsville Police Department responded to a report of a possible robbery occurring at the Backstep Brewing Co. Tuesday evening and found actor Jim Duff, wearing a ski mask, carrying a gun and leaving the brewery with his back to the officers. Police told him to drop the gun, but he turned toward them and an office fired a shot that missed Duff.

Police say Duff dropped the gun, pulled off his mask and told officers they were on a movie set.

No one was hurt.

Police say the production company and the brewery didn't notify them or other businesses in advance of the filming.
