13-year-old boy dies at northern Indiana's Lake Wawasee

SYRACUSE, Ind. (AP) - Authorities say a 13-year-old boy who left a home along a northern Indiana lake died after being found submerged the water.
Indiana conservation officers say an Elkhart woman went to check on her son at a home along Lake Wawasee (wah-wah-SEE') in Syracuse late Friday and couldn't find him. Her husband checked around a pier at the house and found his son in the lake about a half hour later.
Emergency crews weren't able to revive the boy. The Kosciusko (kahs-ee-AHS'-koh) County Coroner's Office pronounced 13-year-old Christopher Dixon of Elkhart dead at the scene.
The sheriff's department says the boy was autistic.
