Saints long snapper Zach Wood makes NFL debut vs. Vikings

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Zach Wood will be the new long snapper for New Orleans, the sixth player the Saints have had at the position since the offseason began.

Wood was signed by the Saints in time to make his NFL debut on Monday night at Minnesota, replacing Jon Dorenbos, who was sidelined by a serious heart condition. Wood was in camp as a rookie last year with the Dallas Cowboys. He also played defensive end in college at SMU.

The Saints also promoted linebacker Adam Bighill from the practice squad and made him active against the Vikings. He's a former CFL player. Among the inactive players for the Saints: cornerback Ken Crawley and new wide receiver Austin Carr.

The Vikings declared five rookies inactive, plus new cornerback Tramaine Brock and safety Antone Exum.
