Illini to host inaugural Hall of Fame ceremony
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) - The University of Illinois' first Hall of Fame Class will be inducted on Sept. 30.
The school says the class of 2017 will be inducted during a ceremony at the State Farm Center in Champaign. The ceremony will begin at 2 p.m.
Thirteen of the 28 inductees are expected to attend, including football great Dick Butkus and Illini basketball stars Dee Brown and Nick Anderson. Family members of a dozen more of the Hall of Famers are also expected to be there.
The ceremony is free of charge but fans are encouraged to order complimentary tickets in advance. Print-at-home tickets are available on the ticket page of www.fightingillini.com .
