Giants waive 2 and sign 2 players, including Rutgers wideout

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) - The New York Giants have waived wide receiver Kevin Norwood and tight end Colin Thompson and signed receiver Andrew Turzilli and linebacker Chris Casher.

The Giants announced the moves Monday. Norwood was waived with a hip injury and Thompson was waived with a non-football injury (appendectomy).

A Rutgers product, Turzilli played in three games and had two receptions for 25 yards for the Tennessee Titans in 2015. He spent a month with the San Francisco 49ers practice squad in 2015, and was signed to the Detroit Lions practice squad on Dec. 20 and to their roster on Jan. 9. He was waived on May 11.

Casher is a rookie who played in college at Florida State and Faulkner. He was with the Oakland Raiders from May 8 to Aug. 4.
