Former Panthers president Morrison takes SC teaching job

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Former Carolina Panthers president Danny Morrison is heading back to college.

Morrison, the onetime athletic director at Wofford and TCU, will teach at the University of South Carolina's College of Hospitality, Retail and Sports Management starting next month.

The school announced Morrison's addition this week.

Between stints at Wofford and TCU, Morrison was commissioner of the Southern Conference.

He served as a Panthers executive for nearly nine years until resigning last February. Morrison said at the time that he left the NFL team to get back into a role on campus.

He begins as a faculty member on Aug. 16.
