Ohio family members in fatal I-70 crash in Indiana IDed

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) - Indiana State Police have released the names of the two Ohio children killed and those of their mother and a third sibling who were injured when their van was struck from behind after slowing for a highway construction zone.

Police said Wednesday the crash on Interstate 70 about 60 miles (97 kilometers) southwest of Indianapolis killed 1-year-old Finley Bereda and 5-year-old Brennen Bereda of Beavercreek, Ohio.

Three-year-old Jordan Bereda and 33-year-old Christina Bereda are being treated at Indianapolis hospitals following the crash Tuesday.

Police say a semitrailer driven by 62-year-old Amritpal Singh of Quebec, Canada, struck the Beredas' van before colliding with another semitrailer.

Police say child restraint seats were in use in the van. The family was traveling to Missouri.
