Preservation commission reviewing more Bottleworks designs

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Designs for four more buildings on the site of an old Coca-Cola bottling plant in downtown Indianapolis are being reviewed by the Indiana Historic Preservation Commission.

The Indianapolis Business Journal reports (http://bit.ly/2rVWspp ) Thursday that the buildings would be part of the Bottleworks project which includes a 136-room hotel, cinema and office and retail space.

The $260 million development is proposed by Hendricks Commercial Properties. The company is presenting its plans in stages to the Historic Preservation Commission and hopes to have them approved July 19. That's about the time the developer would take ownership of the property from Indianapolis Public Schools.

The new buildings would house offices, apartments and retail.

If approved, the Bottleworks project would be constructed in phases and could take up to a decade to complete.
