County gives break to drivers who didn't pay parking tickets

WAUKEGAN, Ill. (AP) - Lake County is offering a break to motorists who let the deadline to pay their traffic tickets come and go.

People who've received parking tickets in the northeastern Illinois county are being given the chance to settle up for the original cost of the tickets.

The (Arlington Heights) Daily Herald (http://bit.ly/2s5wsET ) reports that between July 17 and July 21, the county will forgive any collection fees or interest that have accrued on the unpaid tickets for those who pay up.

Motorists can take advantage of the amnesty program called "Operation Green Light" by paying over the phone or at courthouses in Waukegan, Mundelein, Park City and Round Lake Beach.
